"Today, I'm preforming one of my favorite ceremonies. Shiverkit, Icekit, step forward," Applestar meowed. Shiverkit and Icekit ran from Berryblossom and Kestrelfire, coming up to the Waterstone. Applestar leaped down to preform the sacred ceremony."These two kits have reached their sixth moon of age, and are ready to become apprentices. Until she receives her warrior name, she will be known as Shiverpaw. Embersky," Applestar turned to the cream she-cat.
"You are very fit to earn an apprentice. Though you are new to the ways of this clan, I know you'll be an excellent mentor to Shiverpaw." she meowed. Shiverpaw ran forward before pressing her nose to Embersky, and sitting down next to her mentor.
"Icekit, until you receive your warrior name, you'll be known as Icepaw. Spiderstorm," Applestar then turned to the gray tabby. "You are also new here, but, I know that you too will be an excellent mentor to Icepaw."
"Shiverpaw! Icepaw! Shiverpaw! Icepaw!" the cats of RippleClan cheered as Icepaw scrambled over to Spiderstorm.
"Meeting dismissed!" Applestar meowed, walking back into her den.

"We're apprentices!" Icepaw nudged Shiverpaw playfully. He cuffed her ear.

Dovesong's eyes gleamed with pride as her brother's son was called upon as an apprentice.

"Yeah! I realized!" Shiverpaw teased. "I wonder if we'll train together."
Willowpaw bounded over. "Congrats you two."
Shiverpaw bounded over to Icepaw, "We're apprentices! I hope we get to train together."
Spiderstorm touched noses with his apprentice and felt his heart racing. He looked over to his mate who gave him an encouraging smile and then padded back into the Nursery with the kits. Spiderstorm slowly padded over to his apprentice and gave him a nervous smile and meowed, "Um, ah, hello Icepaw..."
"Congrats!" Ivykit squeaked to her former denmates.
Bluegaze nodded encouragingly to both apprentices, then whispered to Spiderstorm and Embersky. "You two will be great mentors. I wish I had an apprentice!" And smiled.
Embersky's eyes lit as she was named Shiverpaw's mentor. Happiness swelled up inside of her and she found it hard to sit still. She touched noses with her new apprentice and gazed back up at Applestar with interest.
Applestar caught Embersky's eye and leaped down the Waterstone. Padding up silently to the cream she-cat, she dipped her head. "I know your probably wondering why you have gotten an apprentice now, right? Though I said so in my speech, I have limited rights of what I can say in front of the whole clan," she mewed. Embersky tipped her head to one side, but Applestar continued.
"RippleClan is like every other clan out there; we do judge. Being a rouge before you join RippleClan doesn't mean you don't have loyalty. Loyalty comes in many forms, Embersky. If it wasn't for Flameclaw's fierce nature and swift footing, you would have become deputy. Your willingness to learn, kindness, and your judgement is what makes you a mentor." Applestar finished before padding back into her den.
Shiverpaw looked up at Embersky patiently. She wondered what she'd do.
Embersky stared with deep interest in Applestar's direction. She almost spoke, but then clasped her mouth shut. There was simply nothing more to be said.
She felt Shiverpaw's eyes pouring deep into her pelt and she slowly turned around to face her. She gave a slight smile and tried not to sound too excited. "I'm sure we have a lot to work on." She meowed. "But we can begin training and such tomorrow. I'm sure you're excited to begin!"
Shiverpaw twitched her tail nervously. Surely she could trust even her mentor.
Embersky let out a mrrow of laughter and added, "It's okay that you're nervous. Come-I'll show you to my den."
