Embersky, SleetClan, and a Trip

Applestar nodded to a pretty cream she-cat. Flicking her tail for the she-cat to follow, Applestar leaped atop one of the rocks, snagging her claws on a cleft before jumping onto the Waterstone. Though every cat came to the Waterstone without command, she still decided to call them anyway.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Waterstone for a clan meeting!" she called, her tail waving. Every cat sat to begin the clan meeting, looking up expectantly at their leader. "Today is a great day for RippleClan! We have a new cat joining us. Her name is Embersky! I request that you treat her with respect and loyalty." Applestar meowed.

"Embersky! Embersky! Embersky! Embersky!" The cats of RippleClan cheered. Applestar smiled.

"I have two other important pieces of information. We have an ally, SleetClan! Their leader, Featherstar, requested, and I have gladly excepted. My other news is that I am taking a trip to the Moonwater tonight. While I am away, I would like Flameclaw and Rosewing to guard the camp. Meeting dismissed!" Applestar meowed, leaping off of the Waterstone to congratulate Embersky.

Featherstar and her small patrol cheered for Embersky and couldn't help but be interested that Applestar would be going to the Moonwater. After the meeting was dismissed, Featherstar padded over to Applestar and dipped her head in respect.
"We appreciate your time." She meowed. "And now we best be off to our Clan. I wish your Clan the best of luck! May we have an escort back to the camp since we don't know this territory so well?" She gazed over to the water fall and its rocky peak, and the deep green leaves that were growing thickly overhead.

Embersky blushed under her pelt when the entire Clan cheered her name. Happiness swelled up inside of her when she realized that she wouldn't have to be a loner any longer.
"Thank you for accepting me into RippleClan." She purred gratefully to Applestar.

Applestar smiled to Embersky. "Your welcome." she meowed, dipping her head to her newest warrior.
Turning her attention back to Featherstar, she smiled. "Of course. I will escort you," she meowed. She understood why it would be hard for the SleetClan cats. RippleClan's territory was very wet at times, and the rocky outskirts could confuse any cat.

Featherstar followed the tortoiseshell she-cat through RippleClan territory. They leapt over a small stream and landed firmly on the other side. The air was filled with the sweet smells of prey that made her mouth water. Though this territory was different, it was beautiful.
Cardinalflower couldn't help but miss the dry grounds of SleetClan, though she couldn't be more interested in what she saw. The sky was orange with a gray haze that spread across the sky. The clouds were tinted with oranges and pinks.
"It's amazing here." Admired Cardinalflower.

Applestar smiled. "Thank you. Though it's different from other clans territory, I still find it home here." she meowed, her tail waving back and forth.
An end was reached. The group of cats stopped at the small creek that served as the border. Applestar inhaled deeply.
"This is where I leave you." she meowed.

Featherstar dipped her head in thanks and beckoned her cats with the wave of her silvery tail. It outlined black against the shadows.
"We appreciate everything. Goodbye!" And at that, the cats disappeared into the trees, only leaving their pawsteps.

Applestar smiled. "Good luck to you!" she called after the disappearing cats. Applestar turned and bounded towards her own clan.
Usually, she would have told cats to stay and make sure they left, but she trusted the SleetClan cats, and knew the wouldn't do such a thing.

Embersky padded next to the Warriors' Den and gazed around. She would have to make a nest for herself.
I'll ask Applestar the best place to find moss when she returns. She thought.

Applestar bounded back into camp, her paws churning the twigs and scattered moss. Applestar hungrily padded towards the fresh-kill pile, picking up a mouse and eating it. When she was done, she noticed Embersky looking around the RippleClan camp.
Bounding up to her, she dipped her head. "Need anything?" she asked.

Brooke said...

"Oh, yes." Replied Embersky, partially startled. "I need some moss to make a nest. Do you know where I can find it? Should another cat come with me?"

Applefeather said...

Applestar smiled. "You'll be fine on your own. Go to the stream. There's plenty of fresh moss." she instructed.

"I can show her the way," Dovesong cut off the last of her leader's senctence. She glanced at Embersky, then at Applestar for approval.

Icekit bounded over to Shiverkit and cuffed her over her ear playfully.

Applestar nodded. "You can, Dovesong." she mewed.

Embersky smiled and nodded briefly. "Thank you, Dovesong." She meowed thankfully. "Lead the way!"

Dovesong smiled and sprinted off into the forest. She looked behind her and made sure that Embersky was following. She sighed with relief as she saw the new warrior close behind her. She quickened her pace a little and finally they made it to the stream. She stopped, and looked around. "A lot of moss grows over at the tree-stumps," she flicked her tail to a pile of clean moss.

The are was warm and moist, damping Emberky's pelt as she raced nimbly through the forest. The trees were buzzing with noise while birds sung sweetly. Emberysky let the smell of sweet flowers fill her lungs while she brushed past them. New-leaf was definitely here.
At last she and Dovesong had reached the stream. Lights sparkled off of it like stars would in the night sky. "A lot of moss grows over at the tree-stumps." Dovesong meowed, flicking her gray tail to a pile of clean moss. "Thank you." Embersky mewed, dipping her head thankfully. She gazed along the forest floor, trying to find the best place to start, and found a rather short tree with moss growing thickly along its roots.
That should do. She decided, already heading over to the tree. She sniffed the moss to make sure it was clean and began to dig up the dirt underneath where it began. She tried not to send too much dust flying off into Dovesong's eyes as she scraped deep into the earth. At last it was loose and she began to carefully nip the edges of the moss around the root. She was soon able to dig her claws underneath it and rip it up smoothly with her teeth. She shook it lightly to remove some of the dirt and quickened her pace towards Dovesong.
"This should do." She meowed, her voice muffled under the moss.

Dovesong smiled and flicked her tail. "Let's return to camp."
